Copy in TEDD/WIND email: not only providing weight-inclusive care, but also by celebrating lived experiences in marginalized communities and under-represented individual healthcare. The 2022 event features speakers with lived experience in marginalized groups, presenting on topics including (but not limited to) Transgender care, celebrating Queer experiences, care specific to BIPOC communities, and taking a trauma-informed lens to movement.
Hi Kristen.
Thanks for reaching out. We do occasionally get people in our programs who are unaware of just how much social justice impacts the eating disorder world. Desiree’s talk in our first webinar helps people connect the dots between a social justice perspective and this healing work.
I want to note that each webinar offers participants a different experience and the opportunity to hear stories and learn from professionals and folks from all walks-of-life, which impacts our overall understanding of people/clients of all sizes, races, identities therefore expanding our perspectives as helping professionals.
We encourage you to give it one or two more months. Shilo’s presentation today is one of my faves!
Let us know what you decide.
Thank you.
HI Mary Kay,
We are sorry to hear the radical nature of this work is off-putting to you. We do occasionally get people in our programs who are unaware of the racist roots of the body mass index. Desiree’s session in our School for Unlearning helps people connect the dots between social justice and this healing work.
While it is not typically our policy to offer refunds once a program has started, we are willing to refund 60% of what you paid for the program ($559), so your refund will be $335. You will still receive this month’s recording and workbook and then we will cancel your enrollment.
We will process this refund tomorrow.
Warm regards,
Hilary & Dana
